Greetings fellow agents and welcome to the July newsletter, for the EYES ONLY of our members.
Q Lab is almost upon us and those able to attend are in for real treat. We will also be launching issue 003 of “Keeping The British End Up” at the event, so some will get early access to that. Members will then get their copy over the coming month, as we post them out to the rest of the World.
Also in this month’s newsletter, we have an update on our plans for the October’s charity walk for UNICEF across London. The majority of the places to take part have now been filled, so please sign up ASAP if you’d like to join in.
Some of us met in Birmingham earlier in the month for the latest Local Socials event. We all enjoyed some cocktails and the retro arcade machines on what was a sweltering summer’s day. Finally, we highlight a new article on the club’s website, and some other recent updates.

This is our biggest issue yet at over 100 pages!
Throughout August the magazine will be shipped out to members worldwide.
From Cocktails to Consoles
The latest 007GB Local Social saw members gather in Birmingham on Saturday 12th July for an afternoon and evening of cocktails, conversation, and a healthy dose of nostalgia.
The day began in style high above the city at Orelle, a stunning 24th-floor bar and restaurant with panoramic views and plenty of Bond-worthy glamour. From there, we moved on to Passing Fancies for another round of cocktails, where more members joined the fun and the Bond banter flowed as freely as the drinks.
As the sun dipped, the night levelled up – literally! – at NQ64, a neon-drenched arcade bar in the heart of the city, where the official social kicked off. With retro beats, themed cocktails, and button-bashing aplenty, this was the perfect setting to relive our GoldenEye 007 glory days on the Nintendo 64 and take a trip down memory lane with dozens of classic arcade machines.
Thanks to David Lowbridge-Ellis MBE, our Editor-in-Chief and host for the evening, and to everyone who came along to make it such a memorable event.

The Walk Is Not Enough
The Walk Is Not Enough takes place on Saturday the 11th of October, the same weekend as events such as Q The Music’s West End concert, and GATHERALL at the Hippodrome. Uptake has been unprecedented over the last month and we are fast running out of places to take part, so sign up ASAP!
The 10 mile route sees us visit more than 20 Bond filming locations across central London, and a few other places of note from the world of 007.
As members will be well aware, 007GB is all about raising funds for this incredible charity. Instead of a club gala dinner this year, we are focusing our fundraising in other ways. We hope that as many members and guests who feel able to take part will sign up. Please help us raise as much money as possible towards our 2025 target for UNICEF. We are not setting a specific fundraising target for those taking part, but a minimum of £100 would be excellent.
Those taking part can choose whether to get dressed up, be it a tux or even cosplay. A dinner jacket and Skechers anyone? It’s totally up to you! Or you could be sensible and wear walking gear and/or sensible shoes.
Groups will head off from outside Wapping Overground Station from 10:30am onwards. We must split up because of issues with large groups gathering in central London. Each group will have an allocated team leader with the route details and information on places for refreshments etc.
The walk finishes at at the Morpeth Arms on Millbank, across the Thames from the MI6 Building. We have the Spying Room upstairs exclusively reserved for celebratory drinks from mid-afternoon onwards.
Operation: Q LAB Update
Operation: Q Lab is nearly upon us!
We are honouring the exceptional work of special effects supremo Chris Corbould OBE and the club will be presenting Chris with our ‘Bond & Beyond’ lifetime achievement award at the event. After which Chris will have an in-depth interview and Q&A hosted by Mark Wooldridge.
Cash on the day is accepted for donations, autographs and the Bond shop. We have had feedback that, particularly for our overseas guests, cash can sometimes be less convenient to bring to events, so for those members who wish to pre-purchase credit vouchers you can now do so for Q Lab credit. This is non-refundable credit (except if you do not attend the event) that can be used for charitable donations, to buy autographs or anything from our shop on the day.
We are delighted to confirm that in addition to Chris, we will have the opportunity to celebrate with star guests John Glen, Martine Beswicke, Caroline Munro, Alison Worth, Carole Ashby and Safira Afzal. All of these will have autograph sessions at the event for a separate charge. Prices range from £20-£30 per signature CASH ONLY on the day or Q Lab credit.
We will also have a UNICEF raffle, priced at £10 per entry with amazing prizes, a collector stall with rare Bond items and out of print posters.

Operation: Krilencu
Between 25th and 30th May 2025, a group of 40 people, including many 007GB members, took the On the Tracks of 007 tour to Istanbul. 007GB Projects Director Simon Firth (Agent 009) was among them. You can read his epic mission report below.
