Greetings fellow agents and welcome to the October newsletter, for the EYES ONLY of our members.
October saw yet another an incredible weekend of Bond events in London. Amongst them was the 007GB charity walk, which has raised almost £9,000. Simply incredible!
I asked the 007GB board to each share their thoughts from a different event from that weekend, and they have duly come up with the goods.
Then there was VIP launch of London Never Dies, which sounded like an incredible night. Bond fans must get tickets to this cabaret show while it’s on in London!
Also, we share the link to get tickets to our final event of 2025. Operation Thunderbaubles, the 007GB Christmas Party at the Civil Service Club on Great Scotland Yard on Dec 6. I hope to see many of you there!

The Walk Is Not Enough
Debrief by Simon Firth – 007GB Projects Director
50 walkers, 10 miles, 22 locations and a target to raise £5,000 for UNICEF.
11th October saw a number of people collecting at Wapping Station for The Walk Is Not Enough. A lovely day, the sun was shining and hope was high when the 007GB Club President, his Hirsute Highness, Phil Dewhurst, broke open a bottle of suspect champagne to hilarious effect before wishing us all on our way. A few adventurous souls engaged in referenced attire: a couple of Day of the Deads, a tuxedo and most notably, a banana-coloured ski suit with goggles and hat in contrasting red.

The walk followed a westerly direction, hopping north and south over the Thames to arrive at the Morpeth Arms opposite the MI6 building. The four team leaders all executed their roles to enthusiastic perfection. The locations took in scenes from The World is not Enough, SPECTRE, Skyfall, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and various notables that honoured the author, Ian Fleming.

A chance for people to walk and talk, London offered an element of peace to engage with one another until the teams arrived coincident to protests and demonstrations in the city’s centre. While the majority of the locations were to be viewed from outside only, one group did decide to up their game and knocked on the door of the Reform Club, location to both Skyfall and Quantum of Solace. Generosity abounded when the guard decided to allow them all in for a look at the tiled floor and the balcony where the swordfight took place.
Thanks were given, and apologies were made for the one number who was the gentleman in a bright yellow ski suit. Quite bizarrely, he was never even noticed until the apology was made.
Targeted to raise £5,000, the team raised a thoroughly respectable £8,721!

Celebrating 60 Years of Thunderball with Globe-Trotter
Debrief by Mark Wooldridge – 007GB Film & Media Director
On Saturday 11 October, the Club was honoured to support Globe-Trotter as they unveiled their Thunderball 60th Anniversary collection at an evening soirée hosted at their flagship boutique in the iconic Burlington Arcade. The celebration brought together invited guests from the Bond community and 007GB Club members for an intimate occasion that captured the spirit of adventure and travel synonymous with Thunderball.

The champagne reception, complemented by fine refreshments and surrounded by Globe-Trotter’s renowned craftsmanship, set a refined tone for the night. Guests were given exclusive insight into the new anniversary line through a presentation from the store manager, including the reveal of a unique one-of-a-kind piece available to view only at the Burlington Arcade flagship. The occasion was elevated further by the attendance of our Club Patron, Martine Beswicke, who portrayed Paula Kaplan in the 1965 film, as well as other Bond alumni, providing a direct link to Bond’s cinematic heritage.

This collaboration has been a particular pleasure for the Club, with our Film & Media Director, Mark Wooldridge, working closely with Globe-Trotter since April when the new collection was first discussed as being in development. The result was a unique and memorable evening that celebrated Bond film history, international travel, Globe-Trotter’s craftsmanship, and the enduring Bond community.
The Club extends its warmest thanks to Globe-Trotter and the entire flagship store team for their gracious hospitality and partnership throughout.

Gatherall – London
Debrief by Fletcher Sykes – 007GB Operations Director
The mix of colognes, chatter, and just a hint of acetaldehyde in the air was a sure sign that things were off to a promising start. Shortly after seven in the evening, I’d finally arrived at the Morpeth Arms. A pub steeped in history and staring straight across the Thames at the iconic MI6 building itself. On most nights, it caters to loyal locals. Tonight, however? It dared to host an army of James Bond fans gathered to celebrate the UK launch and signing of Joe Darlington’s Being James Bond Vol. 2.
Like many, I missed the Jamaica Gatherall earlier this year. But when the second one landed on my proverbial doorstep, there was no way I was missing it, even if it meant cutting my Barcelona trip (and my brother’s wedding festivities) short. Compartmentalising priorities is beautiful science when executed well.

By the time I arrived, the place was packed tighter than the last row on a budget flight. The bar downstairs was heaving, a living, breathing crowd that spilt out into the street. Upstairs, the queue snaked all the way to the private “Spying Room,” where Joe Darlington, David Zaritsky, and Paul Lally were already deep into the night’s main event.
Joe shared his 15-year journey between Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, a story of ambition, detours, and life’s classic interruptions: marriage, grandchildren, and everything in between. David followed with a sharp Q&A before Joe dove into the philosophy behind living like Bond, not just mimicking him, and then read a passage from his new book. Moments later, he was signing copies alongside Paul, stunned to discover the books had sold out completely.

What followed was pure community magic. Conversations flowed as freely as the drinks, laughter filled every corner, and pictures were taken with familiar and new faces alike. For many, online friendships became real-world handshakes. The excitement was electric, the kind of energy that makes you stop, take a breath, and feel grateful to be part of it.
Gatherall London wasn’t just an event; it was a celebration of connection, shared passion, and the undeniable truth that wherever there’s a Bond community, there will always be a home.

GoldenEye at Grey Flannel
Debrief by Ciaran Brown – 007GB Membership Manager
Grey Flannel – where London’s sharpest men dress to kill!
The evening’s mission? An exclusive and stylish celebration of GoldenEye – Pierce Brosnan’s explosive debut as Agent 007 – marking thirty years of its legacy and the unveiling of a very special suit. At the heart of it all were our own David Zaritsky, host of ‘The Bond Experience’, and Timothy Everest MBE, the distinguished tailor.
Guests were gathered outside upon arrival, drawn to the shopfront where three GoldenEye-inspired ensembles commanded attention – each a flawless tribute to Bond’s sartorial legacy, yet cut with its own distinctive flair. The film’s iconic title font gleamed across the glass, setting the tone for the evening.

Inside, guests were invited to indulge in their libation of choice. The featured spirit, Savile Row Gin, starred in a bespoke cocktail menu that included a ‘Vesper Martini’, ‘The GoldenEye’, a classic ‘Gin & Tonic’ and a ‘Negroni’. I opted for the latter – stirred, not shaken!
After a touch of mingling, David and Timothy took the stage. Their conversation – brief, engaging and sharp – offered insight into the creation of a new GoldenEye-inspired look, exploring the art of tailoring to one’s individual physique. The discussions followed downstairs, surrounded by the quiet grandeur of fine fabrics and impeccable craftsmanship – a masterclass in style and substance alike.

As a delightful bonus, a few familiar faces graced the crowd, including Danny John-Jules from ‘Red Dwarf’ and singer/actor Peter Straker – a close friend of Freddie Mercury, no less. A fitting touch of star power for such an occasion.
In summary, whether you seek attire worthy of a St. Petersburg rendezvous or simply wish to toast the pearl anniversary of the 17th Bond adventure, Grey Flannel delivers – with impeccable style, precision and just the right dose of danger!

Q The Music in the West End
Debrief by Kathryn Vinclaire – 007GB Event Experience/Presenter
In a bid to stay Onatopp of Q The Music’s infamous James Bond Concert Spectacular, some 2,000 Bond fans descended upon the beautiful Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on October 12th for a very special experience.
Some girls get all the luck, and I was fortunate enough to join the guests for the pre-show entertainment. Namely, Samantha Bond, Naomi Harris and Caroline Bliss; three women who have made Miss Moneypenny continually iconic. In a joyous interview they shared their contrasting experiences of playing such an inimitable character, their highlights from filming and working with decades of James Bond actors, and how their love for the fandom and Bond truly never dies.

After a cheeky photo op’ with the Moneypennies, some light gambling and a run-in with Blofeld and Oddjob, I joined a sold-out crowd for Q The Music’s finest show to date. With infectious energy, some very John Barry brass and powerhouse singers, we were transported to atmospheric highlights from all our most treasured Bond adventures.
Ian Fleming loved a plot twist, as does founder Warren Ringham, who gave us all a reason to feel shaken and stirred with a very special guest indeed. The legendary David Arnold himself closed out the show, announcing his collaboration next year with Q The Music, and Royal Air Force Music. October 2026 truly cannot come soon enough!

The after-show party was as dazzling as ever, with a global community of Bond fans reuniting and making new friendships in the beautiful Waldorf Hotel. From one wannabe-Moneypenny to all you Moneypenny fans and David Arnold enthusiasts; what a night to remember!

We were joined by an incredible roster of Bond alumni including Maryam D’Abo, Caroline Munro, Martine Beswicke, Alison Worth, Vanya Seagar, Carole Ashby and Safira Afzal, making this already unforgettable evening even more special.
The cocktails were pure Bond energy. From Diamonds Are Forever to No Time To Die, each creation by the expert mixologists perfectly set the tone for a night of style and celebration, not forgetting a Martini with more than a few inventive twists, shaken of course.
