Mark Wooldridge
PRESIDENT

Mark is a lifelong James Bond fan and an accomplished photographer and filmmaker. His passion for cinema, combined with a successful YouTube channel, reflects a deep appreciation for the art of filmmaking and the enduring legacy of James Bond.


Having been part of the 007GB journey since its formation, Mark now takes on the role of President, looking forward to bringing his years of experience, creativity, and commitment to the club. He is passionate about honouring 007GB’s heritage while helping guide its future, supporting the community, and celebrating all aspects of the Bond phenomenon.

Martine Beswicke
Club Patron

From a very early age, Martine’s dream was to be an actress. In 1963, she was cast as the fighting gypsy girl in the James Bond film, From Russia with Love. Terence Young, the director, became her champion and in 1965 insisted she be cast as the island girl in Thunderball. This led to the career that she dreamed of. Hammer came calling to cast her in One Million Years BC. Moving to Hollywood, TV work began and continued regularly. Returning to London she was cast in Hammer’s Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde. The wanderlust not abating, Beswicke moved to Rome for two years whereupon Oliver Stone cast her in The Queen of Evil (Seizure). She returned to Los Angeles in the 1980s to work and to indulge in the enjoyment and excesses of the time. After a brief stint as a restaurateur, she moved back to London and where she now remains attend and delight in the fan events for both James Bond and Hammer Horror.

David Lowbridge-Ellis MBE
VICE PRESIDENT

Having previously served as Editor-in-Chief, David brings a deep understanding of the club’s voice, values, and community, alongside a sharp editorial eye and an unwavering respect for clarity, accuracy, and storytelling. His MBE was awarded for (not-so-secret) Services to Education, and his experience continues to be invaluable in helping 007GB thrive.

Safira Afzal
GENERAL COUNSEL, BOND ALUMNA

Safira is a Barrister with extensive experience of prosecuting Youth Crime, Hate Crime, Domestic Abuse and Fraud. Safira is a member of the Criminal Bar Association, Women in Criminal Law, and a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
Safira Afzal received the Freedom of the City of London on 20th September 2011 at The Chamberlain’s Court, Guildhall, London.
Safira is a former James Bond girl with extensive commercial and TV appearances.

Simon Firth

Simon Firth
EDITOR IN CHIEF

Simon is a self-employed project manager working within the IT sector, primarily across Telecommunications and Media. Alongside his professional career, he is an established James Bond author and long-standing contributor to On The Tracks of 007, where his writing demonstrates a deep knowledge of Bond history, production detail, and storytelling.

Now serving as Editor-in-Chief of the 007GB Club, Simon brings a rare combination of editorial judgement, subject-matter expertise, and organisational rigour. His experience as a Bond author makes him ideally suited to shaping the club’s written output, maintaining high editorial standards, and ensuring that 007GB’s publications continue to inform, engage, and celebrate the world of James Bond.

Ciaran Brown
CLUB OPERATIONS

Ciaran has been a dedicated James Bond fan from an early age, and his 007 collection has even been showcased on ‘Antiques Roadshow: The Next Generation’. As one of the most positive members of the Bond community, he contributes to the ‘Really, 007!’ podcast and hosts his own radio show, featuring the very best film scores. Ciaran has also made notable contributions to the TV industry as an actor/supporting artiste.

Fletcher Sykes

EVENT OPERATIONS

Fletcher is a Partnerships Director for an award-winning agency in the Pharma field. As VIP Manager, this is one of Fletcher’s contributions to engage his passion for James Bond by being responsible for looking after VIP guests in an attentive and courteous manner, providing a pleasant experience.

Victoria Hodges
VIP Manager

People are at the fore front of Vicky’s work within the club stemming from her work of 20 years as a Retail Manager and now through running her own business. Very much a spark in the community Vicky gives fans a platform to air their opinions on Bond through her Facebook Page and YouTube Channel. 

Kathryn Vinclaire
MEMBERSHI EXPERIENCE

A BAFTA Connect member, with work being shown internationally and at the BFI’s LGBTQ+ Flare film festival, Kathryn has over a decade’s experience in production as a camera operator, presenter and multi-award winning voiceover artist. Her clients include Bond author Anthony Horowitz, Switzerland Tourism and Paco Rabanne.

Philip Dewhurst
FOUNDER

Aside from being the founder, Philip is a partner in a global component distribution company. With previous businesses including magazines & PR. He has also been involved in significant corporate charitable fundraising through various industries over the last two decades.
