The first 007GB event of 2025 took place in Edinburgh on the weekend of the 5th and 6th of April. On the afternoon of Saturday, we held an exclusive 60th anniversary screening of Thunderball with special guest Martine Beswicke.

‘Operation: Solex’. When I utter this title, it conjures a whole host of memorable moments. In short, a truly ‘glittering’ day that celebrated the 50th anniversary of ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’.

The second FREE 007GB event of the year was a fantastic success, with more than 60 members heading to the Hippodrome Casino following a screening of the film at the nearby Prince Charles Cinema.

What an event! One member, for who this was their first 007GB event, said it was “off the scale” and we don’t think anyone who was there would disagree. It was totally worth all of the months of planning and organisation.

It was a unique event in a unique location for a uniquely brilliant book. The launch of A Spy Like Me was a collaboration between our club, Ian Fleming Publications Limited and Harper Collins – the first time anything like this has happened. Agent 0030 Mark Wooldridge reports.

Starting off the 007GB 2024 events season on Saturday 3 February, we had a 24-carat celebration of the film Goldfinger.
