What a day!
On Saturday 21 March, members gathered on the banks of the River Thames, directly opposite MI6, to begin OPERATION: ELLIPSIS, 007GB’s first event for 2026 with each member proudly holding their 2026 007GB membership card.
We could not have asked for better conditions. Under blue skies and unseasonably warm temperatures, members spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine, taking photos in front of MI6, and soaking up the atmosphere before heading inside to our host venue, Café Society.
It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces as well as members attending their very first 007GB event. Days like this are exactly what the club is about, with the bonus of raising funds in support of UNICEF.
We were also delighted to welcome Sébastien Foucan, who appeared in Casino Royale (2006), for his first-ever UK James Bond fan club appearance with any group.
As one of the founders of freerunning, Sébastien brought to life one of the most unforgettable sequences in modern Bond history.
As the bomb maker pursued by James Bond in the opening parkour chase of Casino Royale, Sébastien helped create a scene that immediately announced a new era for 007. The raw physicality of that chase across cranes, scaffolding and a building site remains one of the most thrilling openings in the series.
Throughout the afternoon Sébastien generously spent time with our members, sharing stories from the filming of the parkour chase that opened Daniel Craig’s debut as 007, answering questions, and taking part in a signing session that gave everyone the chance for a personal moment with him.
As well as the selection of images provided by 007GB specifically for the signing session, many members also brought along their own unique and personal items, including books, posters, memorabilia and even film prop replicas, making for some truly special moments. A huge thank you to Sébastien for being such a generous and engaging guest. We can’t wait to have him return for our future events.
During the afternoon, our 007GB President had the pleasure of presenting Sébastien with an Honorary 007GB Membership for 2026.
This was in recognition of the generosity and support Sébastien has shown to the club, particularly in helping us raise funds in support of UNICEF, as well as to mark the 20th anniversary of Casino Royale.
It was therefore only fitting that the club recognise his contribution and welcome him as an Honorary Member of 007GB for 2026.
A heartfelt thank you to our members for attending, for taking part, supporting our charity raffle, as well as the autograph session on the day.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our generous raffle donors, with a special mention to the wonderful team at Globe-Trotter for their support.
And finally, a very special thank you must also go to our wonderful hosts at Café Society, who kept everyone well looked after with fantastic libations and refreshments throughout the afternoon.
